FLORENCE, S.C.- HillSouth, Inc. is pleased to support United Way of Florence County with a $25,000 donation.

For a longtime, HillSouth has been a committed supporter of the Florence Community and United Way through financial donations as well as in-kind. Over the years, Hill and Patel have emphasized the importance of community service and have given back in more ways than one. The HillSouth team enjoys volunteering at local nonprofits through United Way’s annual Day of caring and providing ongoing complimentary IT services to United Way of Florence County as well as Mercy Medicine.

With this donation, HillSouth selects two of United Way of Florence County’s Partner Agencies to receive the funds: Lighthouse Ministries and Mercy Medicine. The financial donation to Mercy Medicine is in addition to ongoing complimentary IT services HillSouth provides the organization to support its mission of providing no cost healthcare. HillSouth believes that providing access to healthcare is vital everyday but even more so now as our healthcare workers have been stretched to their physical and financial limits as the pandemic strains our system. HillSouth hopes that Lighthouse Ministries will provide a hand up to those who are struggling to pay their rent, feed their families and keep their lights on. Patel says, “I am so glad we have employees that are engaged, seek opportunities and continue to support organizations like the United Way.”

“During difficult times, and in difficult situations, Mercy Medicine and Lighthouse Ministries have provided hope for those most in need”, stated Robby Hill. “These organizations have transformed our community’s ability to respond to those in need. 2020 was a rough year for our community due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people have lost jobs and faced medical bills that, at times, seemed over whelming. As we start 2021, there is nothing more important to HillSouth than assuring the people of our community have the resources needed to survive. We are committed to getting vaccines to those who need it and perhaps cannot get to larger vaccination sites. This battle is real for me as both of my parents and my grandfather have all suffered from COVID-19. It was their illnesses that have led me to find ways, no matter how small, that I can help fight this disease.”

The United Way of Florence County is grateful to receive these funds from HillSouth Co-Founders, Andy Patel & Robby Hill, to help improve lives in the Florence Community. If you wish to donate or support United Way of Florence County, please contact our office at 843-662-2407.
