The "Year 2000 issue" relates to the
inability of certain computerized information and production systems
to properly recognize and process date sensitive information. This
is because most of the world’s computer hardware and software have
historically used only two digits to identify the year, resulting in
the computers' inability to distinguish between dates in the
1900’s and dates in the 2000’s.
